The section closes with a śloka — a metrical seal, as the Upaniṣads customarily use for a summary. The verse fixes the rule about the dream-sign: in rites "for something desired" (kāmya), the image of a woman in a dream is testimony that the thing has come to pass.
Behind the particular rule lies the Veda's general view of a man: he is whole, and the boundary between waking and dream does not cut his spiritual life in two. A rite performed by day finishes itself by night; the depth answers the surface. The double repetition — tasmin svapna-nidarśane — is the usual seal of completion: the section on the prāṇa, its kingdom and its rite is ended, and the Upaniṣad turns to a new and great theme — the five fires and the two paths of the soul (5.3).
