The western load has settled as… black: kṛṣṇaṁ rūpam — the sun's "black appearance" — the honey of the Sāma-veda: the dark in the luminary (that very depth-blackness of 1.6!) is the condensed sap of the chants.
The most musical has settled as the darkest: song is depth, and depth is dark not by the absence of light but by its excess: the black of the sun is not shadow but super-light, honey too thick for the eye (like the "beyond-black" in the eye — 1.7!). Whoever has wondered that music darkens the sight and sweetens the heart has already tasted this layer.
