He who, dwelling in darkness, is within it, whom darkness does not know, whose body is darkness, who rules it from within — he is your ātman, the Inner Ruler, the immortal.

The formula of the antaryāmin is applied to the next vesture: darkness. The same four members: He is within; darkness does not know Him; darkness is His body; He rules it from within. And the same conclusion: he is your ātman, the Inner Ruler, the immortal.
Even darkness is His body! There is no gloom outside His dominion: in the dark the same One rules — and therefore, for the knower, darkness is no godless place but a curtain of His own.
