tad yat tat satyam asau saḥ ādityaḥ yaḥ eṣaḥ etasmin maṇḍale puruṣaḥ yaḥ ca ayam dakṣiṇe akṣan puruṣaḥ tāv etāv anyaḥ anyasmin pratiṣṭhitau raśmibhiḥ eṣaḥ asmin pratiṣṭhitaḥ prāṇaiḥ ayam amuṣmin saḥ yadotkramiṣyan bhavati śuddham eva etat maṇḍalaṃ paśyati na enam ete raśmayaḥ pratyāyanti
That truth is that sun: the person in this orb and the person in the right eye. These two are established each in the other: that one in this by its rays, this one in that by the breaths. When a man is about to depart, he sees that orb pure: those rays no longer come to him.

The vidyā of the two persons: the solar and the ocular — the old couple of the whole Upaniṣad (2.3; 5.5) — are "established each in the other": the sun is held in the man by its rays, the man in the sun by his breaths: a mutual saturation, a bridge of light and life strung from the pupil to the sky.
And a sign of approaching death is carefully recorded: the dying man sees the solar orb "pure" (śuddham) — without rays: the bridge is being folded up, the rays "no longer come", the tie between eye and luminary is unbraided before the departure. The Upaniṣad knows how to read the signs of the hour — not for fear but for readiness: he who sees the pure orb knows it is time to pack the luggage of knowledge.
