अथ एतद् वामे अक्षणि पुरुषरूपम् एषा अस्य पत्नी विराट् तयोः एष संस्तावः यः एषः अन्तर् हृदये आकाशः अथ एनयोः एतद् अन्नम् यः एषः अन्तर् हृदये लोहितपिण्डः अथ एनयोः एतत् प्रावरणम् यद् एतद् अन्तर् हृदये जालकम् इव अथ एनयोः एषा सृतिः संचरणी या एषा हृदयात् ऊर्ध्वा नाडी उच्चरति यथा केशः सहस्रधा भिन्नः एवम् अस्य एताः हिताः नाम नाड्यः अन्तर् हृदये प्रतिष्ठिताः भवन्ति एताभिः वा एतद् आस्रवत् आस्रवति तस्मात् एषः प्रविविक्ताहारतरः इव भवति अस्मात् शारीरात् आत्मनः

And the person-shaped one in the left eye is his wife Virāj. Their meeting-place is the space within the heart; their food is the red lump within the heart; their covering is the net-like thing within the heart; their path and road is the channel that rises upward from the heart: as a hair split into a thousand, such are his channels called hitā, established within the heart. Along them the fluid flows: [this subtle constitution] feeds more finely than the bodily self.

The secret anatomy continues: in the right eye is Indha, in the left his wife Virāj (the ruling matter, the queen of the manifest): consciousness and its power are given as a couple, as everywhere in this book (mind and speech, sa and ama). Their bridal chamber is the space of the heart, their food the "red lump" (the heart's blood), their covering the heart's "net", their roads the hitā channels, fine "as a hair split into a thousand".
So the instruction to Janaka begins with a map: before saying where the liberated one goes, Yājñavalkya shows where the goer lives: the couple of consciousness and world meet in the heart, and a man's subtle being "feeds more finely" than the bodily one. All the great events — sleep, death, the departure — will be played out on this stage: in the heart and its thousandfold-splitting channels.
