ते यः एवम् एतत् विदुः ये च अमी अरण्ये श्रद्धां सत्यम् उपासते ते अर्चिः अभिसंभवन्ति अर्चिषः अहः अह्नः आपूर्यमाणपक्षम् आपूर्यमाणपक्षात् यान् षण् मासान् उदङ्ङ् आदित्यः एति मासेभ्यः देवलोकम् देवलोकात् आदित्यम् आदित्यात् वैद्युतम् तान् वैद्युतान् पुरुषः मानसः एत्य ब्रह्मलोकान् गमयति ते तेषु ब्रह्मलोकेषु पराः परावतः वसन्ति तेषां न पुनर् आवृत्तिः
te yaḥ evam etat viduḥ ye ca amī araṇye śraddhāṃ satyam upāsate te arciḥ abhisaṃbhavanti arciṣaḥ ahaḥ ahnaḥ āpūryamāṇapakṣam āpūryamāṇapakṣāt yān ṣaṇ māsān udaṅṅ ādityaḥ eti māsebhyaḥ devalokam devalokāt ādityam ādityāt vaidyutam tān vaidyutān puruṣaḥ mānasaḥ etya brahmalokān gamayati te teṣu brahmalokeṣu parāḥ parāvataḥ vasanti teṣāṃ na punar āvṛttiḥ
Those who know this, and those in the forest who venerate faith and truth, are born into the flame; from the flame into the day, from the day into the waxing fortnight, from the waxing fortnight into the six months of the sun's northward course, from the months into the world of the gods, from the world of the gods into the sun, from the sun into the lightning. To them, who are of the lightning, a person made of mind comes and leads them to the worlds of Brahman. In those worlds of Brahman they live exalted, far away [from the round]; for them there is no return.

The path of light, with this recension's differences: in the forest they venerate "faith and truth" (satyam — instead of the Chāndogya's austerity: truth is the austerity of austerities!); in the ladder there is a "world of the gods" between the months and the sun; and the guide beyond the lightning is a puruṣo mānasaḥ, "a person made of mind" — a mind-made messenger who comes for the soul.
The ending is exalted and quiet: "they live exalted, far away… for them there is no return" (teṣāṁ na punar āvṛttiḥ) — the formula of no-return by which the Gītā will fix the goal (BG 8.16; 15.6). The guide who leads "to the worlds of Brahman" is the Chāndogya's amānava puruṣa: the soul's last stage is not travelled under its own power — someone comes for it. Bhakti will call this by its own name: the Lord sends for His devotee.
