Fourfold is the udumbara [in this rite]: a spoon of udumbara, a cup of udumbara, fuel of udumbara, two stirrers of udumbara. There are ten village grains: rice and barley, sesame and beans, millet and panic-grass, wheat, lentils, peas and vetch. These, ground, he sprinkles with curds, honey and clarified butter — and offers the ghee [into the fire].

The final recipe of the mantha, with botanical exactness: everything wooden is of udumbara, the fig of abundance (four times over!), and there are ten "village grains" — the full granary of an Āryan household: rice, barley, sesame, beans, millet, panic-grass, wheat, lentils, peas, vetch. Plus a threefold dressing: curds, honey and ghee.
The cup of greatness is composed of everything a household feeds on: the rite of abundance is mixed on abundance itself, as prayer is on breath. So the third brāhmaṇa closes: from the great roads of death to the recipe of a draught of life; the Upaniṣad sees no descent in this: for her there is one ladder, from a grain to Brahman.
