Of the person in the solar orb, "bhūr" is the head: the head is one and the syllable is one; "bhuvaḥ" is the arms: the arms are two and the syllables are two; "svar" is the support: the supports are two and the syllables are two. His secret name is "ahar" (day): he who knows this strikes down evil and leaves it behind (jahāti).

注释

The solar person is assembled out of the three great utterances: bhūr is the head, bhuvaḥ the arms, svar the feet: the vyāhṛtis, the extracts of the three worlds (we know their worth from ChU 4.17), make up the body of the solar Man — He is clothed in the worlds as in a body.

And the secret name (upaniṣad!) is ahar, "day": a play on the roots ā-√hṛ / √hā — he "strikes down (hanti) evil and leaves it (jahāti)". Day is the name of the one who kills darkness by his mere appearance. The knower shares in the name: his evil is struck down and left behind, as gloom is by dawn.
