सः याम् इच्छेत् कामयेत मा इति तस्याम् अर्थं निष्ठाय मुखेन मुखं संधाय उपस्थम् अस्या अभिमृश्य जपेत् अङ्गाद् अङ्गात् संभवसि हृदयाद् अधिजायसे सः त्वम् अङ्गकषायः असि दिग्धविद्धाम् इव मादय इमाम् अमूं मयि इति

If he wishes that she should love him, let him, [being united with her] and laying his mouth to her mouth, softly say: "From limb to limb you arise, from the heart you are born; you are the sap of the limbs: intoxicate her with me, as with an arrow smeared [with the poison of love]."

A mantra for winning love, with an unexpected anatomy of feeling: love "arises from limb to limb, is born from the heart" (aṅgād aṅgāt saṁbhavasi, hṛdayād adhijāyase) — by the same formula with which fathers bless a son as "born from the heart"! Attraction and parental tenderness are traced to one source: the sap of the limbs, the core of a being.
And the petition is that the wife should love: even in this ancient stratum of the code, her love and not her submission is the desired end. The means is a whisper mouth to mouth: a word laid closer than any touch. The science is simple and has not aged: love is asked of the beloved's heart — and asked in words.
