The fifth fire is woman, and the fifth oblation closes the chain: the seed into the maternal altar, and "out of this oblation a man is born". Here is the answer to the king's fourth question, "at which oblation do the waters take on a human voice?" — at the fifth: the moisture of faith, having passed through the sky, the storm, the earth and the man, becomes in the woman's fire a speaking being.
Conception is written into the liturgy without a shade of smuttiness: the same ritual markings — fuel, smoke, flame — as for the sky and the storm. Everyone's birth is the fifth act of a cosmic sacrifice; behind every cradle stand four altars of prehistory. And the verse does not stop: "he lives as long as he lives; and when he dies…" — the chain of oblations leads to a sixth fire.
