विनयावनतो भूत्वा कदा चित् सूतनन्दनः ॥

Once Ugrashravas, son of Lomaharshana — a suta and knower of the Puranas — coming to the twelve-year sacrifice of Shaunaka, the head of the community, in the Naimisha forest, humbly bowing down, approached the brahmarshis gathered there, firm in their vows.
