नैषां कश् चिद् वध्यते दृश्यरूपस् ।

Bhishma, the greatest of warriors, destroys countless hosts — and yet not one of the principal Pandavas perishes at his hand. However mighty the opponent, the Lord's devotees are shielded by an unseen protection: their lives rest in Krishna's hands, and without His will death cannot touch them. Even the invincible Bhishma has no power over those whom the Lord protects. Herein lies the devotee's assurance even amid the most fearsome battle.
