द्रोणानीकं युयुधानं प्रमथ्य ।
यातं वार्ष्णेयं यत्र तौ कृष्णपार्थौ ।
तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय ॥

"When I heard that Yuyudhana (Satyaki), descendant of Vrishni, having crushed Drona's army — unassailable even by elephant forces — broke through to where Krishna and Partha (Arjuna) stood — then, O Sanjaya, I lost hope of victory."

Satyaki, a warrior of the Vrishni line — Krishna's own line — and a devotee of the Lord, breaks through Drona's impenetrable army to reach Krishna and Arjuna. Devotees are drawn to one another and gather wherever the Lord is: they are pulled toward Him as toward their center. And Satyaki's strength, like Arjuna's, flows from nearness to Krishna. Thus the Lord's devotees gather around Him, and in this unity lies their invincibility.
