译文
Gandhari, bereft of sons and grandsons, deserves compassion; so too do the daughters-in-law, bereft of fathers and brothers. A hard deed has been done by the Pandavas; they have once more won an undivided kingdom.

Dhritarashtra mourns Gandhari and the widows who have lost their kin — the bitter fruit of war. Here sounds compassion for suffering, which always follows the trampling of dharma: the envy and lawlessness of his sons turned into a sea of grief for the whole line. The Pandavas, having discharged a hard but righteous duty, have won back an undivided kingdom — by the Lord's grace dharma is restored. But the price of adharma is uncountable tears; herein lies a warning to all who set themselves against the will of the Supreme.
