译文
Seeing the Pandavas presented by those sages, the Kauravas, along with the noble people of all classes and the city-dwellers who were there, cried out loudly in joy. Some said, "They are not his sons," others, "They are his"; while still others said, "How can they be his, since Pandu died so long ago?"

The people rejoice at the coming of the Pandavas, but doubts about their origin at once arise. The world judges by appearances and by ordinary reasoning: "Pandu died long ago — how can they be his sons?" — not knowing of the divine design, of their birth from the gods through the secret method of dharma. Herein lies a lesson: a materialistic outlook cannot grasp the transcendent workings of the Lord; the true, spiritual origin of His devotees remains hidden from worldly reckoning. And yet the "noble" (shishtah) rejoice — those pure at heart recognize and accept the devotees even while others doubt. So it is even now: the glory of the Lord and of His devotees is discerned only by a purified heart.
