Translation

"Having heard those narratives filled with wondrous meaning that belong to the Mahabharata, and having gone around many holy places and sacred abodes, I have come to that holy land honored by brahmins, named Samantapanchaka, where once, long ago, the battle of the Pandavas, the Kurus, and all the kings of the earth took place."
